Although this is sad, it's important for planning purposes to be clear what is being factored into energy funding with near term application. The technologies we have are the ones we have to apply at scale to the current problem, we're not going to dig out of the carbon hole hoping for a fusion led pathway.

Nonsense. It’s about 5 years away. I know this because I’ve been reading about fusion for 50 years and the messaging has been remarkably consistent: 5 years away.

what? hmmmm, thing is I went ahead and did a fusion power upgrade on my house 12 years ago and it works great, the fusion unit itself is how should we say...."uncontained" , but I find keeping it 150 million kilometers away, to be about right, and just convert the raw fusion output into electricity, localy

There are really only 3 energy sources: fusion, fission, and gravity.

yes, but to simply it further we need to answer the question is nothing something ?, or try to figure things out from the idea, that from nothing comes nothing. chinas 100 petawatt laser(Station of Extream Light) is going to try and break a vacume, perhaps this year, to seek an answer.
